Environment - Greenhouse Gases Problems

Ryan Graham Environment - Greenhouse Gases Problems              Do you want to die soon? If so let's have Pollution,  Climate Change, and Greenhouse gases keep getting worse. Let's talk about Greenhouse Gases.              Some common Greenhouse gasses admitted into our atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. This is caused by Climate Change (what people still don't think is important). The chart down below shows how gases have risen up 140 percent since 1750, with 40 percent of that rise coming in just the past 26 years. Almost all of this has been caused by human activity  caused the planet to warm 1.8°F (1°C) above pre-industrial temperatures (kahn). chart above shows the increase amount of gases over the years being admitted into the atmosphere and land Affect of Greenhouse Gases Currently in 2019 Greenhouse Gases are at the highest it's ever been recorded....

Local and Global Environment Problems

Local and Global Environment Problems By: Ryan  Local Problems Biodiversity should not be a concern but were making it so bad it's leading to extinction. Biodiversity has gotten so bad it appears to impact ecosystems as much as climate change. Due to over-harvesting, and human environment changes people  could reduce nature’s ability to provide goods and services like food, clean water and a stable climate. In Ann Arbor, Michigan this problem has been getting worse by having  species loss  expecting to reduce plant growth by 5 to 10 percent. An effect that is comparable in magnitude to the expected impacts of climate warming and increased ultraviolet radiation due to stratospheric ozone loss. When the problem worsens to around 40-60%  environmental change, such as ozone pollution, acid deposition on forests, and nutrient pollution  (university of Michigan). If we don't start fixing small issues like this, it can worsen major issues. If we keep t...

Author: Ryan G Created on: November 22, 2019 Us, humans are destroying the world everyday. However, it's not too late, our Earth has a fighting chance but can't succeed without us. What can/should we do? We can definitely start by stop throwing waste away such as plastic. Look at coral reefs, 2/3 of the Great Barrier Reef is destroyed. The crazy thing is after years of damaging our world, it can be still saved. This picture above is the Great Barrier Reef, it shows how fast the reef can die once bleached. Over time we've lost corals. It was fine because it wasn't that much. Now, in present day we are losing coral in coral reefs faster than ever. This is mainly occurring in the Pacific Ocean, or known as the largest ocean/body of water in the world. The North Great Barrier reef lost a total of 2/3 of it's coral, spanning over 100 miles. The coral became bleached or dead. People thought "well now the damage is done, we can start to repair the coral r...

Earth is a place full of life, but it's biggest enemy is us humans. Humans will be the fate of Earth if action aren't taken. We can stop by limiting the amount of carbon taken from the soil. We can start using renewable energy such as solar panels.         S ince the Industrial Revolution, more than 555 gigatons of carbon have been emitted into the atmosphere (Smerdon). This is considered a smaller estimate. The Union of Concerned Scientists have a different hypothesis, they think nearly 1,500 gigatons of carbon have been emitted since 1751, with more than half of that since 1988. On Earth we have a Carbon Budget which is the amount of Carbon the Earth can take in. If drastic changes aren't made we could exceed the Carbon Budget in the next decade. Companies who thrive making money off of drilling for resources and extracting carbon, coal, etc; are at risk. Sense all this protesting it is a sign of a risk to companies like JP M...
