Environment - Greenhouse Gases Problems
Do you want to die soon? If so let's have Pollution, Climate Change, and Greenhouse gases keep getting worse. Let's talk about Greenhouse Gases.
Some common Greenhouse gasses admitted into our atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. This is caused by Climate Change (what people still don't think is important). The chart down below shows how gases have risen up 140 percent since 1750, with 40 percent of that rise coming in just the past 26 years. Almost all of this has been caused by human activity caused the planet to warm 1.8°F (1°C) above pre-industrial temperatures (kahn).

chart above shows the increase amount of gases over the years being admitted into the atmosphere and land
Affect of Greenhouse Gases
Currently in 2019 Greenhouse Gases are at the highest it's ever been recorded. The main reason for this is due to humans releasing the burning of fossil fuels into the atmosphere. Some gas doesn't get admitted into the atmosphere. The remaining gases stay on earth which leads to climate change. This is known as the Greenhouse Effect. This occurs when the gases absorb solar energy and keep it close to the surface. Once the heat is trapped that's when the Greenhouse Effect occurs leading to a main cause of Climate Change.
History of Greenhouse Gases
Many hypothesis were performed when this issue was minor like Joseph Fourier who calculated in 1824 the Earth would be much colder without an atmosphere. In 1896, Svante Arrhenius linked this to show how burning a fossil fuel leads to C02 being admitted which leads to heat. Now a century later this is one of the humans greatest challenges ever.
Climate Change (Complex Shifts) , driven by Greenhouse Gas Concentrations are leading to problems with weather. This is leading to an increase problem of Acid Rain. This has been leading to deforestation and other environmental problems like rising seas.
The Carbon Budget
The carbon budget left in the world is getting scary with only 1/5 C of it left. This graph says if we continue at this rate we could die in around 30 years. If we don't act now too much Carbon will get into our environment all from Climate Change and the cause of Greenhouse Gases.

How to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emission
Very similar to climate change we have to be smart with our money. Don't support fossil fuel companies because they will gain more economic power and enhance their business until it's too far gone to save the Earth. Around 20 countries make up most of the problem. The front-runners who cause this problem is China, India, and the United States.
Recently the an agreement was signed which demonstrates the world starting to acknowledge the problem. The Paris Climate Agreement Act of 2015 was recently signed in 2016. This is an act by the United Nations to deal with problems such as Climate Change, Greenhouse Gas emission, adaption, and finance. If we can stay true to this agreement, we can resolve this problem we started.
What happens if we fail?

This shouldn't be on our mind but if we don't act soon this will cross our mind. Climate Change will destroy us on Earth and Greenhouse Gases will destroy our atmosphere. However, our atmosphere is unlikely to destroy us. If it does it will destroy our layers of our atmosphere making us vulnerable to UV Rays. The burning of Fossil Fuel gases will lead to this, which should be easily reduced. The environment on Earth has many problems like Acid Rain, Climate Change, Greenhouse Affect, and many more. However, this challenge is very difficult and no one individual person can do it by themselves. We need everyone to unite as one to save our earth. If we fail, we may be extinct in around 30 years.

Why will greenhouse gases and climate change lead to human death? And how can people avoid using fossil fuels? Isn't that almost impossible?
ReplyDeleteMake sure you cite your sources.
Yes, greenhouse gases and climate change will lead to human death. Around 250 million years ago there was a mass extinction which was caused by global warming wiping out 96% of humans and animals on Earth. We can simply avoid fossil fuels by using renewable energy. The problem with fossil fuels is that were taking them from the ground and bringing deadly gases with it. If we have renewable energy that wouldn't be a problem cause it would be reusable.
DeleteIt's not confirmed that it will lead to a mass extinction but 250 million years ago there was a mass extinction cause by global warming which wiped out 96% of the animals, and humans. We can avoid using fossil fuels by using renewable energy. The problem with fossil fuels is where were getting them from. Whenever we mine, or drill for them were taking gases along with it. If we use renewable energy we wouldn't have to worry about that because it's renewable energy (exp. Biomass).
